PCC statement
In response to requests from critics of our stance on the demand for a sovereign Scottish parliament, our Party leadership underlines its position on self-determination in this statement
The Provisional Central Committee of the CPGB reconfirms its view that there should be a boycott of Blair’s ‘rigged referendum’ around the slogan, ‘Self-determination - nothing less’.
We stand by and defend the Scottish Socialist Alliance’s founding aim of a “sovereign Scottish parliament’ which can freely decide its relations with England, Wales and the rest of Europe.
A sovereign parliament as made clear by the SSA national council in March 1997 means a “democratic republic”. The PCC will support the boycott campaign of the Committee for Genuine Self-Determination to advance our programmatic demand for a federal republic of England, Scotland and Wales to be won by proletarian methods.
