Help us get there

Robbie Rix reports on the Weekly Worker fighting fund

After three disappointing months to end 2022, when we failed to reach our £2,250 fighting fund target, I’m pleased to say that things are looking just a little bit better in the first month of the new year.

Thanks to the £681 that came our way in the last week, our running total now stands at £1,432 with just under two weeks still to go. That means we’re definitely within reach of the target, but we need more of the same enthusiastic generosity from our readers and supporters if we’re going to get the £1,068 we still need over the next 13 days.

Top of the list in terms of that generosity was the donation of no less than £170 from comrade KB, while not too far behind were GB (£100), MM (£75), PB (£70), AN (£50) and PM (also £50). Then there was US comrade JL, who recently had to suspend his subscription to the Weekly Worker, but failed to cancel his monthly PayPal transfer. But he is happy for his last four payments to be taken as donations amounting to £44!

Then we had contributions from TR (£40), GS and JD (£20), SS (£15), MZ (£10) and JL (£7). And how could I forget comrade Hassan, who handed his usual tenner to one of our comrades?

So we’re now within reach of our target, which this month we must get - otherwise, we’ll start to face serious financial problems. In fact, we could really do with smashing right through that £2,250 barrier in January to make up for the shortfalls of the previous three months.

Please play your part in making sure we do that. Send us a cheque, click on that PayPal button on our website or make a bank transfer (sort code 30-99‑64, account number 00744310). With your help we can do it!
