Alton Manning campaign

Alton Manning died in Blakenhurst prison on December 8 1995. A post-mortem by the home office and an independent autopsy confirmed that death was caused through asphyxiation.

The second independent pathologist said; “In my opinion death was due to the way in which he was handled” (by the prison officers). He drew a parallel with the death of Joy Gardner.

The Defence Campaign demands a public enquiry into the unexplained death of Alton.
