IN NOVEMBER Bolivia was shaken by huge demonstrations of workers and students and by more than 1,500 hunger strikers protesting against the government.
The oil workers, who produce 50% of the national exports and were organised in the country’s most conservative union, were fighting against privatisation.
In the heat of this battle, the offices of the revolutionary organisation Poder Obrero were vandalised by the police and the comrades lost more than £1,000 of equipment.
A solidarity fund has been launched to help the comrades recoup their losses. We call on your readers to support this appeal.
