Voided SLP branches step up campaigns

As South West London Vauxhall branch joins Brent East as a voided CSLP branch the members of both are nevertheless committed to putting the Socialist Labour Party on the map in the general election. Ian Driver is standing for Vauxhall, against Labour’s Kate Hoey and Stan Keable for Brent East against Labour’s Ken Livingstone.

Stan Keable has to date received no communication from the NEC - although a Willesden and Brent Chronicle (Brent local paper) journalist informs me that the NEC has discussed Stan Keable and Brent East and have decided that Stan is not an SLP member.

In fact, Arthur Scargill has written to the Willesden and Brent Chronicle threatening to sue them and the journalists involved if it writes again about Stan Keable being a prospective parliamentary candidate for Brent East.

These branches need the support of all SLP members. Vauxhall CSLP has therefore produced the appeal below and is holding a meeting to discuss the branch voiding on Sunday April 13. The branches need you to pass resolutions in their support and to help to make sure the SLP election campaigns in these areas do not suffer as a result. Public meetings in Brent and Vauxhall will be held throughout the campaign.
