In suspense

With only a few days left before the end of our 1996 Summer Offensive - our annual fundraising drive - the usual last-minute spurt has brought us within reach of our £25,000 target. We have now received £16,806 out of the £23,358 pledged.

Yes, we know there is still some ground to make up, but previous experience has shown that, despite our exhortations to get your cash in as early as possible, comrades insist in keeping us in suspense until the last moment.

This week Wales takes the glory with a marvellous £100 donation from a comrade in Gwent, while a supporter in Cardiff has sent us £50.
