We can do it!

Robbie Rix reports on the Weekly Worker fighting fund

Thankfully, we put on a little bit of a spurt over the last week towards our monthly fighting fund target of £2,250 - not least thanks to the fantastic donation of no less than £200 from RG! Brilliant, comrade - thanks very much.

On top of that there were three-figure standing orders to the Weekly Worker from both SK and PM, plus excellent transfers of £85 from GB, £75 from MM and £20 from DR. Finally, we received the usual fiver from comrade Hassan.

All that came to £740 (more than double what we’d had in the entire first half of the month!), taking our running total up to £1,444. But that means we have to do even better in the last week of the month - we still need £806 with exactly seven days still to go, as I write.

What happened over the last seven days clearly shows that this is possible, but we really do need some more comrades to show their support right now. I would normally say that if you sent us a cheque within the next couple of days, we’d almost certainly get it before the deadline, but with the two-day strike of CWU postal workers about to start, who knows if that will happen now?

So please use PayPal via our website (go to weeklyworker.co.uk/worker/donate, where you will also see the option of making your donation by debit/credit card) or - better still - make a bank transfer to ‘Weekly Worker’ (account number 00744310, sort code 30-99-64).

With your help its more than possible to raise the £806 we still need by Wednesday November 30. We can do it!
