Rising costs

Robbie Rix reports on the Weekly Worker fighting fund

The highlight of this week’s fighting fund was the magnificent £200 donation from comrade RG - one of the largest contributions that have ever come our way via PayPal!

But he wasn’t the only one. Three other comrades - SB, RL and PM - used the same method to donate £50 each! On top of that, we received bank transfers/standing orders from PB (£70), NH and OG (£30 each), DV (£25) and CC (£10). All in all, there were only nine contributors this week, but their donations totalled no less than £515!

That means that we have topped the thousand mark in exactly two weeks with a running total for September of £1,024. But, of course, our monthly target is £2,250, so we are not quite halfway there yet. On top of that, let me remind comrades that in August we fell short of that target by just under £300, which means that we could really do with making up for that in September.

Added to that, like everyone else, we are now faced with higher costs - we have just heard from our printers that they will have to increase the charge we pay (we are waiting to hear by how much … and negotiate!).

In other words, it is more important than ever that we reach that £2,250 each and every month - not to mention make up for that August shortfall! So please help us out if you can. Please send us a cheque, click on that PayPal button or make a transfer to account Weekly Worker, sort code 30-99-64, account number 00744310).

With your help we can get there!
