Robbie Rix reports on the Weekly Worker fighting fund

Two standing orders stand out in this week’s contributions to the Weekly Worker fighting fund: an excellent £70 from comrade PB, while KB beat that by exactly £100 (yes, he transferred £170)!

On top of that there were three PayPal donations - all of them for the same amount. Thanks to each of DF, RL and PM for their generous £50 payments. Then there were bank transfers/standing orders from TR (£40), SS (£15), CC (£10) and JL (£7), while, of course, I could not possibly forget the usual banknote (this time for a fiver) handed over by comrade Hassan.

All that comes to £467, which takes our running total up to £904 for November. However - and this is the downside - our target is for £2,250 with over half the month gone, while we are nowhere near halfway there. Let me stress once again how much we rely on our readers and supporters to contribute to our fighting fund - without them we just couldn’t keep on producing the Weekly Worker. So we really do need more of you to help us out each month.

One comrade who has done so is GT, who has just told us that he’s going to increase his standing order from £15 to £35 - yes, an extra £20 each and every month. But who else will follow suit? Why not send us a cheque, make a bank transfer or - best of all - set up a standing order: the details for all of those can be found on the subscription form on the back page of every issue. And, of course, there is PayPal - go to weeklyworker.co.uk/worker/donate if you want to use that method (or indeed would like to contribute via your debit or credit card).

Whichever way you choose, please play your part in ensuring that we reach our £2,250 target!
