Two-week break

Robbie Rix reports on the Weekly Worker fighting fund

The highlight of this week’s contributions to the Weekly Worker’s fighting fund was a brilliant £100 PayPal donation from comrade JK. He didn’t leave a message to accompany it, but I take it that he really appreciates the quality of our paper and wants to ensure we continue to develop and improve.

Another PayPal donation was from SB - the £50 he transferred was his regular monthly contribution - while the third PayPal donor was MH, with his more modest, but still very useful, £10. On top of that there were the usual raft of bank transfers and standing orders - thanks to BO (£35), CG and NH (£30 each), NR, GD and DV (£25), RG and JS (£15), BH and SM (£10), and ML and MF (£5 each). And how could I forget the tenner handed to one of our comrades from regular supporter, comrade Hassan?

Mathematicians amongst our readers will see that all that totals exactly £400 received over the last seven days, meaning that our running total for August now stands at £741. That’s not bad, as our very much needed monthly target is £2,250, so that means we’re just under a third of the way there with, as I write, just under a third of the month gone!

But the problem is, as I pointed out last week, the current edition is the final one for August, as we’re about to start Communist University and then have our usual one-week summer break. So that means you won’t have me to nag you again until September 1, when the next Weekly Worker will appear!

To make up for that, please do your best to help us out by contributing now, while the memory of my nagging is still fresh! Click on our PayPal button, make a bank transfer (account name ‘Weekly Worker’, sort code 30‑99‑64, account number 00744310) or even send us a cheque.

Be with you again in September.
