Our May fund has ended with a flourish - £150 came our way during the last week, taking our total for the month to £931. But that still leaves us a little short of our new target of £1,000.

Nevertheless, it is a pretty good achievement, considering that a few short months ago our monthly fighting fund stood at a mere £500. It just shows what a reservoir of support - some of it as yet untapped - there is for our paper.

That has been reflected in the excellent response we have received to our appeal for extra standing orders - I see from our bank account that comrade DW has started paying £10 a month: he was just too modest to tell us about it! Anyway, comrade, thanks a lot - that takes our additional monthly income from SOs to £538.

I have also had a few nice cheques over the last seven days: £50 from LB, £40 from RT, £20 each from PL and SF, and £5 each from NV and CW.

There were no donations via our website, though - despite 29,778 readers having visited it (1,705 of them downloaded last week’s paper). We could do with a good number of them showing their appreciation in a practical way!
