Sic’ a Parcel of Rogues in a Nation

Apologies to Robbie Burns

Fareweel to a’ our Scottish fame,
Fareweel to recent glories!
When Scotland’s masses took to the streets
To help bring down the Tories!
Now Blair denies our national rights
An’ Dewar runs to his bidding,
But now the masses must stand and fight -
Sic’ a parcel of rogues in a nation!

What force and poll tax could not subdue,
Thro’ the warlike nineteen eighties
Is sold out now by a coward few
For treacherous Labour’s wages.
Thatcher’s wrath we could disdain,
secure in valour’s station;
But Labour’s ploy has been our bane -
Sic’ a parcel of rogues in a nation!

O, would, or I had seen the day
That Scotland Forward thus could sell us,
The working class must take the lead
From Bruce and loyal Wallace!
But pith and power to our last hour
We’ll make this declaration:-
You can stuff this insult up your arse -
Sic’ a parcel of rogues in a nation!
