Robbie Rix welcomes a target hit

We did it! The extra £60 that came our way over the last two days of the month took our fighting fund total for March beyond £2,000 - the first time that’s happened, as far as I can recall.

It was just two comrades who got us over the line - TB, who donated £10 via PayPal, and CT, whose £50 cheque arrived at the very last moment. Those two took us to £2,006, but thanks to everyone who helped ensure we broke the record!

And we start April with £342 in the pot. Most of that, it goes without saying, is made up by all those start-of-the-month standing orders - there were 20 of them, amounting to £297. But, although the bulk of SOs come in during the first few days, the larger donations tend to arrive in the second half of the month. So those 20 ranged from £5 to £30 (thanks to BL, SW, AC and CG, who all chipped in with the higher amount).

Then there was the £20 from RC, who added that amount to his subscription cheque, and PayPal gifts from US comrade PM (£15) and NR (£10). NR wrote an accompanying message, which reads: “Brilliant coverage of Labour, especially the anti-Semitism rubbish!” I’m glad you like it, comrade.

Anyway, that extra £256 we raised in March has just about covered the extra expense in producing the six-page supplement in this week’s paper. Talk about quick results!
