Dundee campaign against hospital cuts and closures

THE CAMPAIGN to date has been characterised by a distinct lack of interest from the Labour Party. The local MP, John McAllion, seems content to occasionally mumble about cuts and closures in other parts of Scotland.

He has barely mentioned the proposed closure of the Dundee Royal Infirmary.

Out on the streets the Communist Party has received an excellent response from the people of Dundee. Thousands have signed our petition and we anticipate a big turnout on the march on September 23 from the DRI (Dudhope Park) to the town centre.

Public meetings to discuss the proposed cuts and closures have been organised in Lochee (on September 11) and the Hilltown.
