Fighting fund

Encouraging

As I mentioned last week, we need to double our monthly target by July, when we hope to be pulling in an extra £500 in standing orders. That would put our monthly fighting fund at £1,000.

We are some way from that, but I am entirely confident of getting there. And this month’s total of £675 is highly encouraging - before our standing order campaign has really got going, don’t forget.

The £180 received over the last seven days includes a fantastic £100 from comrade DD, plus a handy £20 from DV. That was matched by both GK and FS, while comrade JR sent in a tenner. There was just one donation via the website, however (£10 from PK), despite the fact we had 28,091 visitors.

The number of weekly visits seems to have settled down around the 28,000 mark, by the way. Of those, 2,435 downloaded last week’s paper. Clearly there is a big demand for the Weekly Worker. But we need far more of those readers to contribute to our fighting fund.
