RCN launched in Wales

Members of the Republican Communist Network met in Cardiff last Saturday to discuss the setting up of an RCN organisation in Wales. Six comrades attended: four from the CPGB and one from Workers Power, the other comrade describing himself as an independent.

Speakers emphasised the need for workers to be organised on an 'all-Britain' basis, although the Welsh Socialist Alliance, and the role of the Network, was also stressed. At the end of the meeting, it was unanimously agreed that the RCN be launched in Wales. We intend to organise a fringe meeting at 'Socialism in Wales/Sosialaeht yng Nghymru', the SWP's March 10-12 weekend of discussion and debate in Cardiff, as well as holding a number of day schools to discuss the principles upon which the Network is based.
