Fighting fund
Linda Addison reports on the Weekly Worker fighting fund
We have had a steady trickle of responses to the fund box from readers making donations and pledges towards the Party’s 14th Summer Offensive. Thanks in particular this week to a reader in Greece who sent £200, a pledge from the US and donations from JP, AM, MC and SM.
We are nevertheless still a long way from our target of £25,000 even in terms of pledges. As always actual money raised has initially been very slow coming in. But this year has been particularly slow, given the other work commitments in the SLP and SSA of CPGB members, who still normally raise the bulk of the SO target.
We cannot rely on a rush to a finish this year. The £25,000 is desperately needed to ensure that we can continue to publish and develop our weekly press. Given that to date we have hardly touched that target in actual money coming in, we need members, supporters and Weekly Worker readers to put fundraising at the top of their agenda now and for the next few weeks.
Rush donations and pledges to the CPGB today.
