We can do it!

Robbie Rix reports on the Weekly Worker fighting fund

After, as I write, eight days of March, we are a quarter of the way through the month and we have in the fighting fund kitty a running total of £505 towards our £2,250 monthly target.

That’s quite a bit less than a quarter, which means we really do need to step up the pace. We must make sure we not only hit that target, but make up for some of the shortfall of the last few months - starting with February’s £134 deficit.

The last seven days saw some handy donations, including excellent standing orders from AC (£60), BO (£35), CG and NH (£30 each), GD and DV (£25), RG (£15) and SM (£10). Then there was the monthly PayPal £10 from MH, plus the usual contributions in cash from LM (£20) and comrade Hassan (£10). All that came to £270 for the week - slightly more than the £235 that came our way on the first day of the month!

Anyway, let’s now build on the £505 we already have and see if we can double it by this time next week! You know what to do: send us a cheque, make a PayPal donation (go to the Weekly Worker website and click on ‘Donate’ at the top of the page; you can also contribute that way by credit card) or - best of all, because it’s the quickest and costs neither of us anything - make a bank transfer. Please pay ‘Weekly Worker’ - sort code 30-99-64, account number 00744310.

With your help, we can do it!
