£650 in five days!

Robbie Rix reports on the Weekly Worker fighting fund

Thankfully this week’s fighting fund saw two three-figure standing orders coming our way from comrades SK and PM - otherwise we would be lagging considerably behind the required rate if we’re going to make our £2,250 target for October. But at least we now have a chance of getting there.

Apart from those two comrades, there were standing orders from DR and DG (£20 each), GD and GT (£15), DD (£8) and TT (£6). Then there was the regular tenner handed by comrade Hassan to one of our team - all of which took the total received over the last seven days to £449. That means that our running total for the month now stands at exactly £1,600.

In other words, we still need £650 in just five days! As I said last week, now we really do need to step up the pace - otherwise we could be in a bit of trouble. The Weekly Worker relies on its readers in so many ways, and money counts, Without you we could not print, post or even put it up on the web (for free, no paywall for us, we want to allow access to the widest possible audience both for the current and steadily growing back catalogue of restored issues). So we need to make that £2,250 target!

We have until Monday to get there, so please contribute something if you can as soon as you read this. Click on the PayPal button on our website or choose another method at weeklyworker.co.uk/worker/donate. Or you can make a bank transfer to ‘Weekly Worker’ (account 00744310; sort code 30-99-64).

Let’s make sure we get that £650 we still need!
