Not too bad

Robbie Rix reports on the Weekly Worker fighting fund

Let me start with some good news. The last two days of September saw us break right through our £2,250 fighting fund target, thanks to excellent donations from GB and BK (£50 each), not to mention standing orders from MD £25), MW (£20) and VP (£10).

The £155 received in those three days took our total for the month up to £2,341 - a surplus of £91. Well done, everyone! A word of warning though: remember, our deficit in August was for no less than £378, so we need to keep on with those winning ways in October and smash through that £2,250 barrier once again.

Well, so far we’ve not done too badly. After five days we already have £372 in the kitty. However, I have to remind comrades that the start of each month is when a lot of your regular standing orders come our way - and that £372 was made up by no less than 21 of them. Most noteworthy were the donations from AC (£60) and TB (£50), as well as FK (£37) and CG (£30), not to mention BK and II (£20 each). On top of that, there were 15 SOs or bank transfers ranging from £5 to £18.

There’s been nothing via PayPal so far this month, but I’m sure that will be rectified very soon. Just go to weeklyworker.co.uk/worker/donate and click on the ‘Donate’ tag under ‘One-off donations’. And there you’ll see the option of either using PayPal or your debit/credit card.

Other options are a bank transfer to ‘Weekly Worker’ (account 00744310; sort code 30‑99‑64) or even a cheque - yes, we still accept those!

Whichever way you choose, let’s make sure we not only reach our October target, but once again eat into that August deficit.
