One week to go

Robbie Rix reports on the Weekly Worker fighting fund

The highlight of this week’s contributions to the Weekly Worker fighting fund came in the shape of two bank transfers from comrade GB. Not content with his first brilliant gift of £75, almost immediately afterwards he decided to add a further £50! There’s generosity for you!

On top of that, we received two three-figure (!) standing orders from comrades SK and PM, plus other lesser, but nonetheless highly valued, monthly donations from MM (£75), DR (£20) and TT (£6). Then there was SB with his excellent £50 PayPal gift and finally - how could I forget? - the usual £10 note handed to one of our team from comrade Hassan.

All that came to no less than £841 - not bad for a single week! - which means our running total for March has shot up to £1,950, with a week still to go. Our monthly target is, of course, £2,250, which means that we need exactly £300 to get there.

But don’t forget two things: first, we need to make up for last month’s £250 shortfall. In other words, can we make it to £2,500 this month? That would mean another £550 by next week, which is definitely doable. Secondly, from April postage prices will increase, adding to our weekly costs - making it all the more important that we reach our target every month.

Please do what you can to help. We have exactly one week!
