Celebrating success

The Communist Party celebrated the end of our 13th Summer Offensive fundraising drive at a special meal in Central London last Saturday.

With money still coming in, we had received £17,486 towards our £25,000 target. However, individual comrades have pledged a total of £23,358 and many have confirmed that their cash will be in Party hands within the next few days.

Our Party aggregate the following day agreed to give every assistance to those comrades who have fallen short of their targets to enable them to bridge the gap as soon as possible.

We confidently expect to have got within a hair’s breadth of our overall target. And of course it is still not too late for those friends and sympathisers who have contented themselves with watching from the sidelines to finally enter the fray themselves. Your contribution could turn a good fundraising drive into a complete success!

Saturday’s celebration brought together comrades from many parts of the world to share in our achievement. Friends from Iran, India, Turkey, Australia and South America, as well as Britain and Ireland, enjoyed a splendid occasion, which was marked by speeches from comrade Jack Conrad for the CPGB Provisional Central Committee and comrade Arman Arani from the Organisation of Revolutionary Workers of Iran.

Guests from other British organisations notably the Socialist Labour Party and the Revolutionary Democratic Group, also attended.
