Two days to go

Robbie Rix reports on the Weekly Worker fighting fund

With, as I write, two days left to reach our target of £2,250 for September, our running total stands at £2,186! In other words, we need another £64 to get us home by Friday September 30.

On top of which, of course, we are desperate to make up some of the £378 backlog from August, so please do your best to help us get there. Please click on the PayPal button on our website or - better still - make a bank transfer to ‘Weekly Worker’ at sort code 30‑99-64, account number 00744310.

Over the last week £355 came our way - a very large part of that from one comrade! JM made a bank transfer of £70 and then, just a couple of days later, another one for £100! Brilliant, comrade - thanks very much! On top of that we had DB’s regular £50 PayPal contribution to our fighting fund, as well as a number of standing orders - thanks go to JS (£40), JT (£25), DG (£20), GT (£15), OG (£14) and TT (£6). Finally there was a useful £15 in cash handed to one of our team from comrade Hassan.

Now we need other comrades to follow suit by 5pm on Friday - I know we’ll have a couple of standing orders landing in our account at the very end of the month, but I doubt that will be enough. I also know that there are so many comrades who appreciate the role of the Weekly Worker in campaigning for a single, united, democratic Marxist party, but now we need them to do the necessary!

Please make sure we not only break through that £2,250 barrier, but eat into last month’s backlog as well.
